Secondary Science Teacher
What is the philosophy behind your teaching?
- Want students to learn through experience and hands-on activities. Promote students to take ownership of their learning and find what works for them. Science learners need to know how to ask questions, investigate and collect data and make observations, and come up with their own conclusions from their experiences.
What is your favorite subject (or part of your subject) and why?
- Biology – You learn something about how life work and you think, “wow that’s amazing.” If you take the time to ask the next question, “But how?” then you find out that it is way more complicated and way more beautiful than you realized, and you find out that you actually know very little about it. Then you say, “Wow, God is amazing.”
What is your desire for students, both academically and personally?
- I want my students to see that the world around them is incredibly complicated, and simple, and beautiful, and most importantly wonderfully made for us all.
