For years, ICSN (formerly known as GES) has been proud to see our alumni working in various industries and pursuing different dreams. The next highlight in our Where Are They Now? Series focuses on another alumni in the engineering industry: Mr. Winner Akarawin Sungkanand from the Class of 2011. Upon graduating from ICSN (formerly known as GES), he was offered a full scholarship to Thammasat University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering! He currently works for German company Henkel as a Lean and Engineering Manager where he enjoys managing different people and helping them to maximize their potential.

Winner started his schooling with ICSN (formerly known as GES) in Grade 4, which means he has many memories here involving friendships, awesome teachers and fun activities (especially overnight camps). He said with laughter that PE was one of his favorite subjects because he got to get out of the classroom and just exercise and move around.

Winner recalls Mr.Jonathan Groover putting great effort and passion into teaching; Mr. Jonathan mentored him in preparation for his many public speaking competitions, as well. Winner is humble of his accomplishments, but we would like to acknowledge that as a student at Thammasat he won first place in the 2012 National English Speaking Competition in London, England which paved the way for him to deliver a speech as a UN Youth Delegate at the 67h Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA. What an honor to have met the then Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon!

His future goals are to keep progressing with what he’s doing and to start a family. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Winner!
