Nonthaburi, Thailand—International Christian School Nonthaburi (ICSN) brought together its Grades 1 through 12 students to explore Science, Technology, Reading, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM) at its 2025 Science Fair on April 4, 2025.

Exploring STREAM—Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics
The goal of this year’s Science Fair was to “Inspire inquiry-based learning and real-world application of science concepts,” Shares Mr. Josh Dezentje, secondary science teacher and one of the Science Fair lead. The fair also aimed to foster critical thinking, build literacy skills, and promote an attitude of lifelong learning among the students.
The Science Fair welcomed all forms of projects that sparked the students’ curiosity. These projects were mainly student-led and received minimal teacher guidance to help ensure curriculum and theme alignment.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
While the Science Fair focuses on experiments, theory testing, and projects, it also builds life skills students can benefit from: “Presenting to judges and peers sharpens speaking skills,” Mr. Josh Dezentje shared. It also builds confidence in their English communication skills and helps with collaboration.”

By taking ownership and responsibility for their projects, ICSN students bring scientific principles to life, realize their potential, build self-assurance, and inspire curiosity—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.
Science Fair Winners
A panel of judges graded the science fair projects, with winners chosen in three categories. Students also voted for their favorite science fair projects for the People’s Choice Awards.

Fueling Future Innovations
At International Christian School Nonthaburi, the science fair is not just a yearly event—it’s a fun, engaging reminder of what students can achieve with the right opportunity and tools to think critically and explore boldly.
Looking ahead, Mr. Josh Dezentje hopes to expand the event into something bigger than it is now at International Christian School Nonthaburi. “I would love to see the science fair become an invitational event where students from other international schools in Bangkok and Thailand can come and compete.” With a solid foundation built on STREAM and a school culture that encourages creativity and collaboration, the future is bright.
